Our Team

Our team has combined experience in disability services, mental health, NDIS planning, support coordination, business development, law and commerce, dispute resolution, marketing and communication. We are strategically designing a future of growth, creating employment opportunities, engaging in technology, and providing practical and innovative support to people with disability. We are a team driven by the same purpose: people helping people.

Barbara (Barb) Lightburn

Founder and Director

Barb has worked in the community service and regional development sector for over thirty years. She has extensive experience in economic development, support coordination and NDIS planning, a Bachelor of Education, Masters of Dispute Resolution and studies in positive behaviour support. It was Barb’s belief that people with a disability should live a life of their choosing that is fulfilled and enriched by doing the things they love that led to the creation of MAP. Barbara is a courageous leader who walks with her team and strives to create economic stability and well-being for clients and employees.

Charlotte Williams

General Manager

Charlotte’s desire to be a part of a community organisation where decision making achieves the best outcomes for individuals led her to the role of General Manager at My Ability Pathway (MAP). Armed with a Bachelor of Business and a Graduate Diploma in Social Science, Charlotte brings extensive skills and experience in business development and planning, communications, brand management and marketing. This, combined with her strong sense of justice and diplomatic relationship management, makes her the ideal person to lead the team at MAP. Charlotte’s approach is thoughtful, considered and balanced, yet she is outgoing, approachable and optimistic. Charlotte will greet you with a smile, listen intently and create a sense of warmth and confidence in any situation.

Tari Wagland

Marketing and Communication Consultant

Tari is a creative communicator who loves to share the story of MAP through words, images and content. Tari joined MAP at its inception, with a Bachelor of Marketing and Communication she has applied her business development skills, proficiency for procedural design and creative writing to support the rapid growth of the business. Tari is passionate about equality and inclusion, aiming to create opportunities for a connected community through her work with MAP.

Nicole Martin

Finance and Human Resources

With an eye for detail, Nicole brings a flare for numbers and a penchant for processes to the MAP team. Her experience in customer service, natural warmth and kindness has fashioned her people-first approach. Since starting with MAP in a data entry role, Nicole's responsibilities and capacity have expanded across financial management, administration and HR management. Her proficiency keeps the wheels rolling and supports MAP's more comprehensive picture of exceptional service delivery.

Kylie Hanna

Service Coordinator

What Kylie Hanna brings to My Ability Pathway cannot be taught. Her passion and drive for empowering people with disabilities are ingrained into her person-centred approach. Add to this, over 25 years of experience in the Disability Sector, and you have our ultimate fit. Kylie thinks outside the box and envisages endless opportunities for clients to have a quality life and one that is exciting and connected to the community. Kylie creates opportunities for clients to grow and develop skills whilst engaging in new experiences.

Sally Kennedy

Team Leader

Sally has always understood that every person’s experience is different and unique, as are their goals and wants for their lives. Combined with her expertise in the disability sector, which includes roles as Resource and Development Officer, House Manager and community support, she has developed into a genuinely person-centred Team Leader. Sally engages intently to understand individuals so she can design the supports that give them the best opportunity to live an enriched life. Her interest in Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI) and younger onset dementia has seen Sally undertake a Diploma in Dementia Care. Sally is gentle by nature. She listens to understand and is deliberate in her approach, with an unwavering determination to achieve the best outcomes for people with disability.

Subigya (Subi) Uprety

SIL Accommodation Leader

Subi’s experience growing up in a family environment, living with his Grandparents, created a natural connection and interest in working with older people and people with disability. To strengthen his innate knowledge and build his understanding of disability theory, he completed a Certificate IV Disability and will continue his studies in Dementia Care. Subi has steadily been progressing his career in the disability sector, commencing two years ago with My Ability Pathway (MAP) as a Support Worker; he now guides and mentors team members in his role as Team Leader of Accommodation Services. Subi is a considered thinker; he observes closely and processes meticulously to ensure actions and decisions are client-focused and support the delivery of high-quality support.

Alanna Felby

Support Coordinator and Projects Coordinator

Empathetic, warm and professional, Alanna is passionate about inclusion and equality for all people, balancing a compassionate nature with a meticulous work ethic. Nearing twenty years' experience working with vulnerable people, along with lived experience of invisible disability, Alanna is intensely knowledgeable about the barriers people may face. Dedicated to helping overcome them, Alanna is invested in supporting people to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. Excelling wherever xe applies xerself, Alanna’s adaptive strengths have led to a dual pathway at MAP, supporting exceptional outcomes for clients as a Support Coordinator, and for MAP as Projects Coordinator.

Carmen Bliss

Support Coordinator/Mentor

With over 10 years’ experience in a counselling role, Carmen Bliss has an open approach, working closely with clients to create success in achieving their goals. Carmen excels at engaging with people, taking the time to truly understand them and their needs. Her compassionate approach and ability to connect with clients ensure that they receive personalised, effective support. Carmen's expertise in coordinating services and guiding her team make her an invaluable asset to the MAP Support Coordination services.

Lesley Roxby

Support Coordinator

Lesley Roxby brings over 13 years of experience in disability services, mental health, and case management to her role as Support Coordinator with MAP. Lesley is deeply committed to her clients, ensuring their needs are met with thoughtfulness and a meticulous approach. Her background in rehabilitation counselling and extensive work with complex cases highlight her dedication to advocating for the best outcomes for the people she supports. Lesley's careful and considered process ensures that each client receives the tailored support they need to reach their NDIS goals.

Karen Healey

Support Coordinator

Growing up, Karen Healey knew her pathway was in the disability sector. Her conviction to provide choice and opportunity to people with disability, along with ten years of working with people with complex support needs, creates a dedicated, knowledgeable Support Coordinator. She is person-centred, committed to empowerment, and focused on individuals’ abilities and strengths. Karen promotes the values of seeing the person, not the disability, providing a voice for those that don’t have one and communication through any means.
